What We Do

One team, one point of contact, and every way a camera moves on a production. This is the whole list — the disciplines, the kit behind them, and the work that sits either side of the shooting day.

The disciplines

Every discipline that moves a camera

Each of these does something the others cannot. If you are not sure which one your shot needs, describe the shot and the answer comes back with a recommendation — including when the answer is that nothing here is the right tool.

Jib & Jimmy Jib operation

Height, reach and a move that starts wide and lands tight. The arm for reveals, developing wides, rises over a crowd and the shot that opens a show — from single-operator Jimmy Jib work to longer arms on live shows.

Camera Jib operation

The arm work on productions that arrive with a jib of their own, or that need a particular arm and head combination for the move. Same discipline, matched to the rig the shoot already has.

Steadicam operation

The camera that walks. Walk-and-talk, walk-ons, stairs, doorways and long unbroken takes in spaces where nothing can be built and the subject will not stay still. A rig that punishes a bad operator and disappears behind a good one.

Camera Crane & TechnoCrane operation

Scale and distance a jib cannot reach. Planned as an event, with the build, the arc and the site conditions agreed before the day rather than discovered on it.

Education & jib tech

Learn how to run jib or have the jib looked after

Two sides of SSVIDEO that are not a shooting day: teaching the discipline to the next operator, and keeping the rig — yours or ours — in the condition a production needs it.

Jib Education

Hands-on Jib Education

Hands-on education on jib equipment: the essential steps for setting the jib up, then how to operate it safely and confidently through the scenarios and challenges a real shoot puts in front of you — built to leave you with a solid foundation as a jib operator.

  • Intro to Jib — the basics: the terms, the setup and teardown, and the first movements on the arm.
  • Level 1 — hands-on training: setting up with precision, operating smoothly, the safety every operator needs, and the five shots a jib operator is expected to master.
  • Jib Master Class — advanced work on the arm, open only to operators who have completed Level 1.

Jib Tech

Jib Tech Specialist

Two options for the rig itself. Send the arm and the symptoms, and the reply will say which of the two is the right call — including when the answer is that neither is needed yet.

  • New Jib Setup — a technician comes to your site and demonstrates setting up, tearing down and operating a jib bought through Stanton Video.
  • Jib Health Check Up — an extensive, in-depth examination of the equipment, so faults are found between jobs rather than during one.

Where it is used

Live + Sport + Commercials + Film

The same disciplines turn up in very different spaces. Our operators have worked all of them since 1993, and the record is on the credits page.

Live broadcast and Corporate Shows

Multi-camera shows, stadium and arena coverage, conference and church broadcasts. A live camera gets one take, and the operator has to be ahead of it.

Sport

Starting lineups, sidelines, halftime shows and the move that follows the play — the camera work that has to land while the action is still happening.

Commercials

Product and brand spots where the movement is the idea — the reveal, the sweep, the move that makes a small object feel large on screen.

Film

The jobs where camera movement is one part of a wider shoot. Working since 1993 on sets where the operator is part of the crew rather than a rented machine on the end of it.

Operators

Who runs the rig:

SSVIDEO places Jimmy Jib, Camera Jib, Steadicam, Camera Crane, TechnoCrane, Dolly Cam, remote head, gimbal and mini head operators on productions, so a shoot can cover its whole range of camera movement. Our operators are fully trained and carry thousands of hours of hands-on experience between them — and they are expected to be innovative problem solvers on the day, not operators who can only work the shot as written.

Beyond the core disciplines, SSVIDEO provides multiple options for your production, including but not limited to: aerial drone Inspire 3, Dactylcam, TechnoCrane, Jib, Steadicam, Dolly Cam, Agito, Defy Rhythm Track Cam. When a production is weighing two ways to get a shot, the recommendation comes from what the shot needs rather than from which kit is closest to the job.

The kit that comes with the call

The current SSVIDEO inventory, as it stands. Availability on your dates is a separate question from what is on this list — send the dates and the reply will be specific.

Why book one team for all of it

Booking a Jib from one company and a Steadicam from another means two quotes, two call times, two kit deliveries and a schedule that has to be negotiated between them on the day. Booking SSVIDEO means a single conversation about what the shot needs, and the freedom to change the machine when the location turns out to be different from the recce.

It also means the person quoting the job is the operator who works it. SSVIDEO has worked since 1993 across live broadcast, sport, commercials, corporate and film work, and works nationwide in the United States. Where a production needs a larger crew, the reply will say so rather than leave it to be discovered on the load-in.
